Barbecue Sauce

I crave this Pioneer Woman recipe barbecue sauce. Originally I made it to use in Brunswick Stew because I was out of store bought stuff. Now I use it on Beyond burgers, as a sauce for chicken nuggets, or on grilled chicken. I no longer buy the store bought kind. This is so much better.

2 cups ketchup 

1 cup packed dark brown sugar 

1 cup red wine vinegar 

3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 

2 tablespoons yellow mustard 

2 teaspoons hot sauce 

Salt and black pepper to taste 

Whisk to combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer whisking occasionally for 20 minutes or until the sauce has reduced slightly.  Use immediately or cool and refrigerate in an airtight container until ready to use.
